The Heart of Bow
The warmth, integrity and pride of the East End people is the Heart in Heart of Bow. There are few places today where you can walk into a pub a stranger and walk out a friend. This openness and acceptance of an individual for who they are is the reason why Bow has people from all walks of life and many cultures - but one proud community.
The East End has become popular with Hollywood directors and singing megastars, who have embraced it lock, stock and barrel. In fact the whole area has become v. trendy with an influx of designer shops, bars and restaurants offering every sort of cuisine.
But be reassured in a world of fads and fashions, Bow will always be a real place to live. Because it has real markets, real bargains, real boozers, real barbers, real shaves and real people.
You may have heard that London is hosting the 2012 Olympics. This site is a mere 500 yards away from the Olympic Press Centre (for reference, at the 2004 Olympics, there were 10,000 journalists to commentate on 15,000 athletes).
Location
Heart of Bow perfectly describes its position geographically. Just a short stroll away, Bow Road underground is the nearest public transport and offering direct access to the Hammersmith & City Line or the District Line – as little as 4 stops into the City at Bank.
Only 1 stop further on from Bow Road, Mile End offers a swift switch onto the Central Line and you go from East End to West End in 8 stops. Whilst Bow Church DLR takes you to Canary Wharf in only 5 stops. Mainline Rail links are also excellent with Liverpool Street 3 stops away, Kings Cross just 7 and Waterloo only 11 stops, with Stratford well within walking distance.
Also within walking distance is the bus station, where there are a myriad of options.
By car you travel the 2 miles to the Blackwall Tunnel before your engine oil even gets warm. And the 4-mile journey to City Airport will just about get it to optimum temperature.
Of course there will be times when you don’t want to go anywhere very fast. That’s when the East End’s 400 acres of open space comes into its own. Victoria Park is a shining example of this manicured calm. It was the first park to be opened to Londoners in 1842 and is just a 10-minute walk away from Heart of Bow.

Why London?
Because property prices are at a 30-year high.
The value of the best properties in central London has risen by an average 33% in the 12 months of 2006, according to estate agent Knight Frank's prime property index.
That is the fastest rate of growth since mid-1979 and means prices in central London are rising at three times the UK average. A property worth £100,000 in 1976 would now be worth more than £4.1 million, the index shows.
Knight Frank said demand had been supported by growing numbers of overseas buyers and money spent on property by City bankers.
Over the past year, Chelsea, Belgravia and Knightsbridge have seen the strongest market, with prices surging by more than 45%. Of the 31 London Boroughs, all 31 have seen a price appreciation of 14% or more over the last 12 months.
Head of residential research, Liam Bailey, said: “Even after 18 months of strong price appreciation, the pace of growth has yet to slow in London and, if anything, has quickened”.
